Seeing these lovely lasses dressed to the nines, you'd quite rightly think they were off to a wedding, or some festival. Well, you'd be wrong.....

The one thing I adore about this part of rural Gujarat is that even though development is slowly making its mark in this region, the people still haven't lost sight of their culture and heritage - not yet anyway. So, you'll find these darling girls dressed exactly like this whenever you decide to drop in on them.....

This is great and the models look so contented and happy. One wonders if they will look so happy when "progress" arrives? I really like the artwork on the wall behind them. I'm wondering does it have cultural significance? To me it reminds me of central and South American Style Artwork!

Oh and by the way a great shot!!!!!!

Hi there.....yes you may well be right about the artwork. It mostly consists of geometric shapes - making it quite abstract, but very colorful. Sometimes, their furniture can even be studded with small circular mirror pieces - and that is really stunning!!
