It's hard to believe that I'm still in Kashmir. This landscape is so very different to that of Dal Lake.....

One could easily mistake these snow-clad mountain ridges to be that of the Swiss Alps, or even the Colorado ski slopes. But no, let me assure you (and myself), that I AM in Gulmarg, which is located in Kashmir, India.

Standing at the top of Aphrawat peak, the views of Gulmarg are absolutely mind blowing. The Gondola that connected me to the stunning elevation of 3980m, is the highest lift in the entire world to serve a ski resort. And, hard core skiers tell me that the Gulmarg mountains have the best powder in the world.....wish I could stay here forever!!

By the way, if you'd like to get the true exhilarating flavour of these mountains, then take a look at an Incredible India ad I produced a while back. It's uploaded on Vimeo, so click on this.... [link]

Gulmarg is situated in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir with an incredible altitude of 2730 meters above sea level. It has a gently sloping landscape. It is located at about 57 km from southwest of capital of Srinagar.
